Three-flowered Avens can be found in abundance at Manitoba’s Spruce Woods Provincial Park. Their rosebud-like flowers morf into delicate, feathery seed heads from mid to late June, creating a smoky look over the landscape. Because of these characteristics, the plant is also know as ‘Prairie Smoke’ and ‘Old-Man’s Whiskers’.
